For instance, the reward for mining a block was most recently cut in half on July 9th, 2016 from 25 bitcoin to 12.5 bitcoins as reward for solving the Byzantine general's problem. The next halving event occurs every four years with the next one slated for 2020 with a block reward amount of 6.25 bitcoins.

Then another questions comes... what will happen when reach 21 millions cap?
We estimate to reach 21 million cap by 2141 year.
What happen next?
Effects on Bitcoin Miners:
Very simple theory, Bitcoin Miners will lost their jobs. Imagine that when the bitcoin is reaching the cap of 21 million in circulation, will there be more miners or lesser miner? Bitcoin miners then in future only can rely on transaction fees in order to maintain the operations. On top of that, Bitcoin miners will find out that process of mining is unaffordable and it leads to a reduction in the number of miners, a centralization process of the Bitcoin network and numerous negative effects on the Bitcoin system. With all the possibilities, transactions fees may increased.
Price of Bitcoin
Bitcoin price has already seen massive hikes in price in just the past few months. While no one is entirely sure how Bitcoin will continue to spread to the the financial world, bitcoin's limited supply of the currency may cause the prices to continue to increase.
